regions
Region breakdown
Ghost of Yotei's map spans six major provinces encircling Mount Yotei. Yukimura Coast serves as the introductory zone, teaching stealth fundamentals amid fishing villages and smuggler hideouts. Tsukino Fields features expansive farmland where dynamic weather introduces blizzards that obscure visibility. The Shirogane Highlands challenge traversal with icy cliffs requiring upgraded climbing gear.
Sango Wetlands blends hot springs with Oni corruption zones that emit toxic miasma. Crystal Ravines showcase underground caverns illuminated by bioluminescent moss, while the Summit of Yotei acts as the final province filled with vertical arenas and legendary duels. Each region unlocks progressively as you liberate territory and complete faction objectives detailed on the Ghost of Yotei story guide.
shrines
Shrines & spiritual sites
Spirit Shrines operate as the new Fox Dens, guiding Atsu through puzzle-laden paths culminating in Spirit Art upgrades. Completing Spirit Burrows unlocks aura-based buffs tailored to each stance. Oni Sanctums, on the other hand, house high-level elites that drop rare engravings.
Keep an eye out for Ainu Ritual circles marked by wind chimes. Completing their rhythm-based mini-games grants cultural artifacts and friendship boosts with Ainu allies. Shrine rewards tie directly into builds explained in the Ghost of Yotei gameplay hub.
activities
Activities & collectibles
Beyond story quests, the map brims with side activities: dueling rings, Onsen reflections, Oni hunts, courier intercepts, and yokai sightings. Each activity rewards Honor Points, crafting materials, or lore entries. Courier intercepts are particularly valuable for unlocking fast-travel routes, as captured letters reveal smuggler shortcuts.
Collectibles include memory beads, ancestral katanas, and wind poems. Memory beads unlock flashbacks, ancestral katanas expand the transmog catalog, and wind poems add new flute melodies. Use the Journal's map filters to track progress and reference our Ghost of Yotei characters compendium for quests tied to specific companions.
photo mode
Photo mode locations
Sucker Punch curated dozens of scenic vistas flagged on the map. Photographers can capture the Aurora Veil at the Summit, migrating cranes in Tsukino Fields, or Oni lightning storms above Crystal Ravines. Photo mode now features weather presets, NPC posing, and cinematic lighting rigs, enabling professional-grade shots.
Seasonal photo challenges tie into community events broadcast via the in-game Message Board. Participating earns exclusive dyes and emotes listed on the Ghost of Yotei price & bonus tracker.
endgame map
Endgame map changes
After the main story, provinces evolve with higher-level patrols and rotating Oni incursions. Spirit Shrines reset with tougher puzzles, while raid entrances open across the map every Friday. Weather patterns intensify, introducing lightning storms that empower Thunder stance combos.
These changes keep the world vibrant for endgame pursuits like Endless Hunts. Pair this section with the Ghost of Yotei gameplay page to craft efficient farming routes.
